Monona Police Chief Brian Chaney Austin says a HazMat crew was called to a scene at an apartment building Monday afternoon when a body was discovered.
Officers responding to a call about the body found a possibly hazardous substance and evacuated the building a little after 3:00 p.m.
Police say the death isn’t considered to be suspicious.
Residents were allowed to return to their apartments after about three hours.
The name of the victim hasn’t been released.
A social worker conducting a wellness check found the body.
