A Sheboygan Falls boy has died, and his mother has been charged with killing him.
Last week we reported that the child, now identified by authorities as Oliver Hitchcock, was taken to a local hospital on March 30th as was his mother.
Details are still scarce, but the Sheboygan Falls Police Department has stated that Oliver’s mother assaulted the young boy, and inflicted injuries on herself shortly after. The boy’s father then called the police.
They have suggested one count of 1st Degree Intentional Homicide, and one count of Attempted Intentional Homicide due to witness reports from previous incidents.
Additional staff and counselors will be available to students and staff within the Sheboygan Falls School District starting today to help the grieving process.
During a news conference on Friday, Sheboygan Falls Police Chief Eric Miller stated, “We are taking steps to ensure the mental health of our first responders and officers and thank the community for their support over the past several days.”
