Congressman Scott Fitzgerald and U.S. Senator Ron Johnson have introduced a bill on setting bail and conditions of release for suspects charged with violent crimes.
The Wisconsin Republicans want the U.S. Department of Justice to conduct a study on the way those decisions are handled in American courts.
The bill was introduced Monday.
Fitzgerald and Johnson say the study is necessary after the case last November when Darrell Brooks Junior allegedly drove his SUV through the crowd at the Waukesha Christmas Parade, killing six people and injuring dozens.
