It was a great weekend for five local youth wrestlers as they competed and won medals at a state tournament in Madison.
A total of nine wrestlers with the Whitelaw Warriors coached by Morgan M. Sickinger, and Jeremy J. Berglund, made the trip, with Brody Brandt and Kenley Berglund each coming home with a gold medal.
Owen Beatty earned a 3rd place finish, while Audrey Brandt and Teagan Turk each wound up in 4th.
Henry Erdmann, Kailee Yauch, and Malakai Munoz also made the trip but did not place, and a clerical error beyond his control kept Tommy Braun from competing.
Additionally, Amiya D’Aoust, a former Warrior now represented by X-Factor, took 5th.
She is coached by her uncle Christopher Yauch, a former two time state champion from Two Rivers.
