A jury has been selected in Door County to hear the trial for a man who is charged with causing the disappearance of his wife 47 years ago.
Carol Jean Pierce’s body was never found.
85-year-old Richard Pierce is charged with first-degree intentional homicide and disinterment of the dead.
Investigators say Pierce moved to Michigan with a new girlfriend shortly after his wife went missing.
They say a missing person report wasn’t filed for almost three months.
A two-week trial is scheduled to begin on April 19th.
Pierce was in court Thursday as the jury was selected.
