This week is National Drug & Alcohol Facts Week, and the Jackie Nitschke Center is letting people know how they can spot the signs of addiction.
One of the most obvious signs of addiction is the continued use of either drugs or alcohol even when it is having noticeable negative effects on their lives.
Other less obvious signs include hanging around with a different group of friends and not caring about their appearance.
Those suffering from addiction may also skip school or miss work, lose interest in some of their favorite activities, or begin showing significant changes in eating or sleeping habits.
Addicts may also begin getting in trouble with the law.
If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction, you can get help by visiting the Jackie Nitschke Center, located at 630 Cherry Street in Green Bay, or give them a call at 920-435-2093.
In Manitowoc, you can get help from the Lighthouse Recovery Community Center.
They are located at 721 Park Street and can be reached by calling 920-374-4433.
