The Green Bay man who escaped custody while being transported to the Brown County Jail from California has been caught.
31-year-old Tyler Martinez was caught in Georgia, after eluding police for nine days.
Martinez is facing charges locally for his role in a string of thefts from storage units, car thefts, and drug offenses.
He was able to escape from the custody of REDI Transports in Chicago, which were transporting him from Los Angeles.
He was caught on St. Patrick’s Day after committing numerous crimes along the way, including stealing another vehicle.
That is the crime that got him caught in California and was his downfall once again.
Martinez is currently sitting in a Georgia jail, and it is unclear when he will be brought back here.
The Brown County Sheriff’s Office has suspended all out-of-state transports with REDI.
