A string of thefts from cars and garages has led the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office to ask the public to lock their doors.
It is being reported that Deputies began receiving reports of break-ins on March 15th, with the culprit striking in areas such as Oostburg, Cedar Grove, Random Lake, Waldo, and Elkhart Lake.
It is believed that the culprit is from outside of the area.
On top of locking your doors, residents are reminded of the importance of removing valuables from their vehicles at night.
In general, these kinds of thieves tend to take a quick look into vehicles to see if it would be worth their time.
Then, if the door is locked, they tend to move on.
If you see anyone acting suspicious, or if you witness a crime in progress, you are encouraged to call the Sheriff’s Department immediately.
