Republican lawmakers on both the state and federal levels are accusing the Biden administration of seriously harming Wisconsin farmers.
Speaking on National Agriculture Day, Congressman Tom Tiffany says Democrats want to expand the definition of what can be considered a wetland under the Clean Water Act.
He says it would cause “increased paperwork and increased costs for agricultural producers who have a tough enough time battling the weather every day.”
Meanwhile, State Assemblyman Tony Kurtz says fuel costs began rising after Biden halted construction of the Keystone XL pipeline, which would have carried Canadian tar sands oil through the U-S for export to other countries.
Opponents protested the pipeline’s construction, saying any leaks would harm the environment.
