A Manitowoc man is facing charges after his reckless driving caused a scuffle at a trailer park.
Officers were called to Newport Village in the 700 block of Albert Drive at 4:00 last evening on a report of a disturbance.
When they arrived, they saw several individuals yelling at each other.
A 23-year-old man saw the officer, entered his truck, and ignored orders to stop.
He then revved his engine at bystanders and accelerated toward them.
When he finally stopped, the officer told the man he was under arrest.
The man resisted as officers attempted to put handcuffs on him, to the point that the officers had to take him to the ground.
The officer noted that he was injured in the scuffle.
After he was placed in the squad car, the officers learned that the suspect’s reckless driving upset his neighbors and caused a fistfight before the officers arrived.
The suspect has been charged with Felony Resisting Arrest, and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
