
A handful of local and area boys high school basketball stars have been named to the All-State team by the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association.
In Division-4, Luke Pautz, who just paced the Roncalli Jets to the State championship at the Kohl Center with a 55-45 victory over top-seeded Milwaukee Academy of Science, is on the list.
Pautz averaged nearly 26 points and 11 and a half rebounds per game in his senior year.
He’s joined by area players Miles Barnstable of Howards Grove and Sheboygan Lutheran’s Casey Verhagen.
The WBCA Division-5 All-State roster includes Reedsville’s Brennen Dvorachek, who also averaged a double-double in points and rebounding while leading the Panthers to a 25-win season.
Sheboygan Christian’s Michael Modahl is also first-team all-state while Jacob Ganga of Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah and Sam Lindenberg of Gibraltar were named Honorable Mention.
The WBCA Division-3 All-State squad includes Denmark’s 6’ 10” senior forward Donovan Short, a UW-Green Bay recruit, and Brillion 6’ 8” junior forward Jeremy Lorenz who averaged almost 20 points and 11.5 rebounds per outing for the Lions in their season that ended in the state semifinals.
Kewaunee senior Ben Heim was accorded Honorable Mention status.
