The Sheboygan River was blocked by an ice jam late last week, causing the river to overflow.
The National Weather Service reported that at around 10:30 a.m. on Friday, flooding began at Esslingen Park in Sheboygan Falls, and even reached a depth of 9 feet by Saturday morning.
The water level was expected to slowly decline over the weekend and into this week and could affect several parks in the area.
Specifically noted were River Park in Sheboygan and Kiwanis Park throughout the week.
A flood warning issued by the NWS will remain in effect through Friday as the levels slowly decline to their usual depths.
