Marquette’s season is over.
The 9th-seeded Golden Eagles were ousted from the NCAA tournament yesterday by 8th seed North Carolina, 95 to 63.
First-year head coach Shaka Smart told reporters afterward that it wasn’t their day, that they didn’t play “with the level of violence” needed on defense to take down the Tarheels.
Marquette finishes the season with a 19-13 record.
Now, it’s Wisconsin’s turn in the spotlight tonight as the third-seeded Badgers take on the 14th-seeded Colgate Raiders.
It won’t be easy, as the Raiders are second in the country in three-point percentage and seventh in shots made, according to 247Sports.com.
The winner will face either LSU or Iowa State on Sunday.
