The Hamilton Wood Type and Printing Museum and Two Rivers Historical Society have decided to separate in order to increase each organization’s success.
The legal separation went into effect in December 2021 and will allow the Historical Society to continue to preserve and promote local history, and the museum to protect printing history, and remain in Two Rivers.
While that may seem counterintuitive, Historical Society Board President Don Konop explained, “This will make it easier for funding and assuring the Wood Type Museum donors that funds given will only support the operation of the Wood Type Museum. We will still work with all the museums in Two Rivers to promote and advertise our wonderful museums.”
Peter Crabbe, Executive Administrative Director, Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum, Inc. added, “We are grateful to the museum’s founders–Two Rivers Historical Society–for this opportunity to advance the work they started.”
