The Marquette Golden Eagles have been knocked out of the Big East Conference tournament in the first game.
Creighton took the Eagles 74-63 at Madison Square Garden Thursday afternoon. Darryl Morsell led Marquette with 18 points and Justin Lewis added 17.
Lewis also had seven rebounds while point guard Tyler Kolek had a half-dozen assists.
Turnovers were a big problem in the first half.
The Golden Eagles fell short on their attempt to make it to the conference tournament semifinals for the fourth time.
Coaches, players, and fans will wait to hear Marquette’s name called Sunday during the NCAA Selection Show that starts at 5:00 p.m.
