It is another successful week for State Senator Andre Jacque.
The De Pere Senator watched his “Heroes for Healthcare” Bill get signed into law, while another of his bills is on its way to Governor Tony Evers’ desk for final approval.
The healthcare bill, which received support from both sides of the political aisle, is modeled after a program in Virginia that has deployed hundreds of skilled veterans to the medical workforce and helped relieve pressure on the healthcare system.
Sen. Jacque’s bill passed unanimously in both legislative chambers and garnered more than 30 bill co-sponsors.
Meanwhile, his Affordable Housing bill was directly connected to the Town of Gibraltar, as it allows them to have the financing tool it needs to address a shortage of affordable housing.
That bill cleared the Assembly last month and recently passed in the Senate.
Now it just needs the governor’s signature.
