Marquette and Creighton, a pair of teams from the Midwest, meet on the big stage at Madison Square Garden this afternoon.
The tipoff in the Big East Men’s Basketball Tournament quarterfinals is set for 1:30 p.m. and will be aired on 97.1 FM WCUB.
The Bluejays beat Marquette twice this season but the games were so close that two possessions could have given coach Shaka Smart two more victories in a 19-and-11 season.
The Golden Eagles will benefit from the absence of Creighton starting point guard Ryan Nembhard, a freshman, who suffered a wrist injury two weeks ago and is done for the season.
