The man accused of stealing from multiple storage units in Brown County has escaped police custody.
31-year-old Tyler James Martinez was recently arrested in California and was being transported to Brown County by REDI Transports.
They were waiting for a connecting flight from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport when Martinez fled.
The Brown County Sheriff’s Office reported that the handlers were getting food for Martinez when he ran.
They immediately contacted airport security, but he was able to elude them, and even boarded a car rental shuttle bus.
Martinez was handcuffed but was not wearing a jumpsuit.
He was described as wearing a light grey sweatshirt, dark sweatpants, and dark tennis shoes.
If anyone were to see Martinez, they are encouraged to contact their local law enforcement entity immediately.
