Voters in the final regular-season A-P College Basketball Poll knocked the Badgers down two spots to number 12.
The loss to Nebraska wound up hurting the team more than the win over Purdue helped.
If Wisconsin had held onto the lead and whipped Nebraska there’s a good chance they would have been rewarded with a ranking of seventh or eighth.
Despite sweeping the season series from the Boilermakers, Wisconsin is still ranked below them.
Purdue checks in at number nine, Illinois is number 16, and Iowa is number 24 in the poll.
