Lakeland University recently received a major grant from the Kohler Trust for the Arts and Education.
The $250,000 grant will reportedly be used to help fund the Kohler Teaching Scholars program, the Lakeland Promise Program, and their free shuttle, and will expand counseling services for students.
The Lakeland Promise Program is getting the lion’s share of the funds, as $100,000 is slotted to go to the program which helps students attend the University with no tuition and fees for four years.
As for the rest of the money, $65,000 will go to the Kohler Teaching Scholars program which promotes diversity at the school, $50,000 is tabbed for the shuttle service, and $35,000 will go toward upgrading their counseling services.
