The Wisconsin Supreme Court has chosen the redistricting maps submitted by Democratic Gov. Tony Evers.
Thursday’s decision came on a four-to-three vote, with conservative Justice Brian Hagedorn joining with three liberal justices in picking those political maps.
The new district boundaries will leave Republicans with majorities in both the Assembly and Senate but the gap will be narrower.
The changes also mean Wisconsin will have two competitive congressional districts instead of one.
The new maps will be used for the next ten years, starting with Wisconsin’s August 9 primary elections.
Republicans haven’t said if they are going to challenge Thursday’s decision.
