The State of Wisconsin has approved some road improvement projects in Manitowoc and Brown Counties.
I know your ears just perked up, but no, Washington Street in Manitowoc was not on the list.
Governor Tony Evers has signed a $23.97 million contract to improve 15.5 miles of I-43 from WIS 310 in Manitowoc County to WIS 96 in Brown County.
This project will include the improvement of interchange ramps and the Highway 96 bridge that spans over I-43.
Construction will begin Monday (March 7th) and is expected to be completed in November of this year.
I-43 will remain open during work, however numerous on and off-ramps will be closed for short periods, and the Highway 96 bridge will close for approximately two months.
Northeast Asphalt, Inc. from Greenville is the Prime Contractor for the project.
