The Mayor of New Holstein has stepped down. In a Sunday post on Facebook, Jeff Hebl announced that his decision to step down was effective immediately.
He stated, “My wife and I weighed my options, and this was the only option that made the most sense for myself and my family. I will not be pursuing a second term as mayor either.”
Hebl’s public service career has spanned three decades as he spent 28 years on the police force, 12 on the Board of Education in New Holstein, and two as mayor.
As for the reason for his departure, Hebl said bluntly, “It’s time I give my wife and family more of my time.”
