
Marquette trailed by as much as nine points before finally beating Butler Saturday afternoon on the road 64-56.
Guard Darryl Morsell topped the Golden Eagles scoring column with 16 points.
Coach Shaka Smart’s team finally took the lead with a little over 8 minutes left.
The emotional win came in front of the first Marquette sell-out crowd of the season at the Fiserv Forum – 17,504 fans.
The Golden Eagles travel to DePaul for their next game Wednesday, then wrap up the season at home when St. John’s comes to visit.
