A new structure for performing arts will be built in De Pere’s Voyageur Park.
City officials approved the plan recently, and Mayor James Boyd announced the approval of the Nelson Family Pavilion on Wednesday.
Voyageur Park already plays host to a variety of activities such as yoga, band concerts, and art walks.
The structure will be located near the park’s restrooms and will be able to host small gatherings or larger concerts of up to 5,000 people.
Construction is planned for later this summer and could open as early as next winter.
A fundraising effort is currently underway at DePereWI.gov.
