Waukesha police say a man has been charged with beating his mother and father in front of his nine-year-old son.
Authorities were contacted when a neighbor saw the boy running from the home, screaming for help.
Police say 43-year-old Kurtis Berberich answered the front door smelling of liquor, with blood on his shirt and hands.
The victims were on the floor with the father covered in blood and the mother on her back under a recliner.
Berberich is charged with two counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide.
