The National Weather Service issued a release Wednesday afternoon advising of a lake effect snow band near Lake Michigan that will impact Northeast Wisconsin.
The biggest impact is expected to be seen near the lakeshore, with the lesser impact being felt throughout the north and central parts of the state.
As of the weather service’s Wednesday afternoon release, around four to six inches of snow accumulation is expected near Manitowoc between 12:00 a.m. Thursday until 6:00 a.m. Friday.
The report notes that a lake effect snow band will move onshore late Wednesday, diminishing on Thursday morning.
A more widespread area of snow is expected to hit Thursday afternoon, leading into Friday morning.
Winds may gust up to 25 mph, creating hazardous travel conditions due to reduced visibility and drifting snow.
