This may seem obvious just by looking at how little snow shovels have been used, but Sheboygan County had the third driest January in the past 128 years.
The National Weather Service put the county in a state of moderate drought back in January and has left it that way ever since.
While that sounds like it would be a major concern, the Sheboygan County Extension says it’s not a big concern just yet.
They are looking ahead to the warmer months and are hoping for some additional rain during April and May.
March is predicted to have better-than-average odds of above-normal precipitation, so some relief may be on the horizon in the next couple of weeks.
That coupled with the snow that is expected this week, means the issue could become non-existent in the near future.
