The Packers were emphatic when they said they wanted to keep quarterback Aaron Rodgers on the team.
The hiring of Tom Clements as a quarterbacks coach is the first big step in that direction.
Both Pro Football Network and ESPN reported the move Thursday.
Clements became Rodgers’ quarterbacks coach in number-12’s second N-F-L season.
The two worked together as Rodgers developed into one of the best pro quarterbacks ever over the next six years.
Then, Clements was promoted to offensive coordinator and assistant head coach.
Coaxing him out of retirement sends a strong message.
