Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has won his fourth N-F-L Most Valuable Player award.
His name was called Thursday night in Los Angeles at the league’s honors ceremony.
Rogers outdistanced Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady 39 votes to 10.
He threw for 4,115 yards, 37 touchdowns, and just 4 interceptions, while his 111.9 passer rating was the best in the league.
At the same ceremony, former Badger T-J Watt was named N-F-L Defensive Player of the Year after tying the single-season record for sacks with 22.5 for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Also, Packers safety LeRoy Butler has finally been named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
The man credited with inventing the “Lambeau Leap” will be part of the Class of 2022.
He was one of five players named Thursday.
During a 12-year career, Butler intercepted 38 passes and had 20.5 sacks.
He also was named All-Pro four times.
Butler was strong enough to cover tight ends and quick enough to cover slot receivers, blitzed quarterbacks, and was the emotional leader for the Green Bay defense.
He improvised the “Lambeau Leap” in a 1993 game against the Los Angeles Raiders.
