The State Building Commission recently approved the spending of over $2 million to repair approximately eight miles of roadway in Peninsula State Park in Door County.
Commission member Senator Andre Jacque of De Pere told Seehafer News those roadways were constructed in the 1960s and are in desperate need of repair.
Sen. Jacque said. “These road improvements will enhance access to the attractions at the park and hopefully foster continued recovery of the tourism sector, which is so vital to our area economy.”
Also receiving part of that money is the Fox River State Trail in Brown County and Whitefish Dunes State Park in Door County.
The Fox River State Trail will get $20,000 for culvert replacement, and Whitefish Dunes is slotted to get $6,516 for boardwalk improvements.
