Donna M. Rick, age 89, of Manitowoc, passed away on Sunday evening, February 6, 2022 at Magnolia Meadows Assisted Living.
The former Donna Schuerer was born on September 28, 1932 in Manitowoc, a daughter of the late Ludwig and Ollie (Makus) Schuerer. She grew up in Manitowoc and was a 1950 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On April 14, 1956 Donna married Ralph W. Rick at First German Ev. Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on September 20, 1993. She was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Newtonburg, a former member of the St. John’s Ladies Aid. Donna enjoyed gardening, crocheting and crafts. She was self-employed in a business known as Custom Crafts.
Survivors include her three sons and four daughters-in-law: William (Tabita) Rick, Manitowoc; Susan Rick, Onekama, MI, Russell (Mary) Rick, Manitowoc, Andrew (Catherine) Rick, Manitowoc; one daughter and son-in-law: Nancy (Tim) Becker, Manitowoc; sixteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Ludwig and Ollie Schuerer; her husband: Ralph W. Rick; one son: David Rick; one daughter-in-law: Shawn Rick; one brother and sister-in-law: Donald (Alrea) Schuerer; one sister and brother-in-law: Delores (Dale) Panosh.
A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 14, 2022 at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Newtonburg, 7531 English Lake Road, Manitowoc. The Rev. Micah Martin will officiate with burial to follow at the Ucker Cemetery in the town of Schleswig. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
