The February meeting of the Manitowoc City Police and Fire Commission held earlier this week provided some interesting tidbits of information.
The January monthly police report finds the number of adult criminal charges rising from 104 a year ago to 136 last month.
Traffic citations declined by quite a margin, going from 236 one year ago in January, compared to 177 last month.
Traffic accidents rose from 64 in January 2021, to 95 for the most recent monthly period.
Meanwhile, the Office of Building Inspection issued nearly 3,500 permits last year, having a construction value of $89.7 million in the city.
Those two statistics are much higher than 2020 numbers when permits totaled nearly 3,000 for a construction value of $52.5 million.
