The Two Rivers Public School District issued a press release Wednesday regarding the Tuesday death of a student.
A reported medical emergency near the pool area of Two Rivers High School left a 10th-grade student dead.
The full release from the district says the student passed away at the hospital, and that they will have support staff available to students.
It is with deep regret that we inform you a 10th-grade student was found unresponsive in the high school pool yesterday, February 8th. Two Rivers emergency personnel responded to our call and the student was transported to the hospital where he passed away. Until an investigation is completed by the appropriate agencies and final determination is made by the coroner, we are unable to release additional information at this time. We do have counselors and clergy available for students, staff, and community members who may need or want any type of assistance surrounding this loss. We are honoring the wishes of the family and not publicly identifying the name of the student at this time. We extend our deepest sympathy to the family.
