There was another crash in rural Manitowoc County this morning, which resulted in the death of a 78-year-old rural Whitelaw man.
According to Sheriff Dan Hartwig, deputies and EMS personnel were dispatched to the intersection of County Highway T and Shimon Road in the Township of Kossuth at around 6:50 a.m.
Their preliminary investigation showed that the 78-year-old man was driving north on T when he proceeded into the east ditch, struck a wooden fence, then a power pole, and continued over 240 feet into the field before coming to rest.
The cause of the crash is not known at this time, and the identity of the man was not released.
The investigation is ongoing.
The Sheriff’s Department was aided on the scene by the Kellnersville and Manitowoc Fire Departments, Kellnersville First Responders, the Coroner’s Office, WPS, the County Joint Dispatch Center, and PK’s Auto.
