Students at Two Rivers High School will be staying home today after a sophomore student died yesterday afternoon.
Details about what led to his death are scarce, but we do know that paramedics were sent to the school’s pool at around 1:50 p.m.
The boy was taken to an area hospital, where he later died.
The Two Rivers School District is not commenting on the incident as of yet, but on their Facebook page, they announced that the girls basketball game scheduled to take place at the school last night was postponed.
A letter to families said that the high school has canceled classes for today, but elementary and middle school students are expected to have class.
Two Rivers Police Chief Brian Kohlmeier will be on WOMT’s Be My Guest program at 9:30 this morning where he may or may not have new information.
