A statement released by Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes indicates his officers didn’t shoot 38-year-old Quadren Wilson last week and didn’t see who did.
Barnes says his three officers were helping maintain the perimeter of the car park on Madison’s east side while state agents tried to arrest Wilson.
The statement released Monday repeats a previous department report that no Madison officers fired their guns.
So far, no agency has confirmed who fired the shots that hit Wilson in the back.
The Dane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the Thursday incident.
