A Manitowoc woman was allegedly dragged by her hair and strangled, leading to an arrest Thursday afternoon on suspicion of numerous domestic violence charges.
The 21-year-old suspect faces charges of disorderly conduct, battery, strangulation, and bail jumping. A report filed by Manitowoc Police shows the incident taking place at a little after 3:00 p.m. on South 20th Street.
A bystander told police that he witnessed a woman being dragged by the hair at a nearby apartment complex on his video security system.
Officers were called to the scene where they spoke to a 23-year-old woman who claimed that she feared for her life, alleging that the suspect yelled profanities at her and held her down while attempting to strangle her. She sought medical attention and was referred to a local domestic violence center.
Arresting officers requested that the suspect’s release be subject to a bond condition, out of concern for the victim in the case.
