The Wisconsin women’s basketball team had to play a ranked Iowa Hawkeyes team Thursday night without its top player.
Sydney Hilliard is taking a leave of absence, according to a release from the university.
The Badgers were thumped by Iowa 84-50 without the 5’ 11” junior guard.
The release says Hilliard will be absent temporarily while she focuses on a personal matter.
It isn’t known when she might return.
Hilliard is averaging 12.8 points a game and leads the team with 4.7 rebounds a game.
