Valders Elementary School will be holding a couple of events to memorialize their recently deceased student, Skylar Beattie.
8-year-old Skyler passed away after a car crash last month on I-43, which has left an indelible mark on the students and staff at the school.
Principal Jason Procknow tells Seehafer News that the Elementary School will be hosting a food drive next week Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in honor of Skylar’s memory.
Those who wish to donate can do so at the school, at the BP gas stations in Whitelaw and Valders, or at the Country Visions station in Valders.
Procknow said that they chose to honor Skylar in this way because “Skylar was very interested in helping people, so we believe this will be a fitting tribute.”
They will also be holding a “Pink Out Day” on Thursday, where students at the Elementary, Middle, and High Schools will all wear Skylar’s favorite color.
