A dog was killed in Platteville Saturday when it attacked a police officer. Police had been called about a loose dog running around a neighborhood shortly before noon.
Officers found the dog and returned it home. When one of the officers tried to conduct a follow-up interview with people inside the home to discuss the violation, the same dog got out when the door was opened and attacked the officer.
That’s when a second officer shot the animal. Police say the officer who was attacked suffered minor injuries.
