Marquette’s seven-game winning streak finally ended Sunday, but the Golden Eagles didn’t go down without a fight.
Marquette led by six points at halftime and built the lead to nine before Providence staged a comeback, winning 65-63.
Guard Darryl Morsell scored 14 points and Tyler Kolek and Justin Lewis had 13.
A putback attempt by Lewis that would have tied the score failed to drop.
The game had been postponed from Saturday afternoon as a major winter storm was predicted to pass through the region.
The Golden Eagles return home to host Villanova Wednesday in a 9:00 p-m game.
