A Milwaukee County deputy was shot multiple times early Wednesday during a traffic stop.
The deputy was reportedly hit in the arms and chest, but he is expected to survive.
The driver and passenger in the car that was stopped were taken into custody.
While that was going on, a man not involved in the traffic stop was seen climbing out of a garbage can.
As deputies approached him he took out a gun and opened fire, then ran off.
When he was finally tracked down deputies say they heard a gunshot – and they found the 19-year-old suspect dead from an apparent self-inflicted wound.
A county-wide shelter-in-place alert was lifted just before 11:00 a-m.
