The City of Manitowoc has announced that Halvorsen Dog Park will be closed Thursday and Friday for the removal of dead or dying ash trees.
Dan Koski, the Director of Public Infrastructure for the city explained in a news release that “Several trees at the park are infected with the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) beetle, which is nearly 100% fatal to untreated ash trees.”
The public will not be allowed in the park between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM each of those days, so crews can continue their battle with the tiny beetle.
