Ronald “Ben” Jost Sr., age 83, a resident of Sheboygan, entered eternal life on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at the Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center in Sheboygan.
Ben was born on March 4, 1938 in Hika, WI. He was the son of the late Clarence and Clara Mrotek Jost. He attended St. Wendel Catholic School in Cleveland. Ben was a lifelong resident of Cleveland. He was employed as a truck driver with Bemis Manufacturing from where he retired in 2004. Ben was married to Lenore E. Bryant on June 18, 1966 in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on May 29, 2021. Ben enjoyed his retirement by spending time on his beloved farm and wintering in Arizona. When wintering in Arizona he enjoyed lawn bowling and golfing with his wife Lenny. Ben volunteered at Palm Creek as the ”Grill Master” and enjoyed hosting the daily neighborhood happy hour. Ben was happiest on Lake Michigan fishing with his buddies and heading up North “hunting”. He was a great story teller and always had a joke to share even if he only knew you for a brief moment. He was a member of the Manitowoc Yacht Club, Bemis 25 Year Club and active member with the Cleveland Fish and Game. Ben was a legendary father even though his work kept him away from his family. When at home Ben was always teaching whether it be playing cards, sports, games, and a very vast vocabulary. Throughout the teaching process, he instilled his strong ethics and morals to his children.
He is survived by one son, Ron Jost, Jr., Cleveland, three daughters, Laura (Guy) Jones, Sheboygan, Traci (Charlie) Goking, Sheboygan Falls, and Erikka (Bill) Hass, Sheboygan; seven grandchildren, nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Clara Jost, two brothers, Clarence Jost Jr. and Thomas Jost.
