The pressure is building for the Major League Baseball players and owners to reach an agreement if the 2022 season is going to start on time.
The players union is submitting its counter-offer to owners today (January 24th).
The players were locked out on December 2nd and there were no talks of any sort for 42 days.
Spring training is scheduled to begin February 16th and the regular season opening day is on the calendar for March 31st.
Any updated collective bargaining agreement would have to be ratified no later than early March to avoid missing games.
