Cold temperatures can be a benefit for the Green Bay Packers, but the team has learned they’re no guarantee of a victory.
When the San Francisco 49ers met the Packers in Lambeau Field nine years ago the temperature at kickoff was just five degrees.
The 49ers won that game on a last-second field goal.
Conditions will be similar Saturday night.
It could snow during the day and the temperature could be about 10 degrees when the playoff game finally starts, and single digits are likely before it ends.
Bigger factors may be the injuries suffered by 49ers linebacker Fred Warner, defensive end Nick Bosa, and quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.
All three are expected to play but it isn’t known if they will be at 100 percent.
