
Manitowoc County’s former Emergency Management Director and the first-ever woman elected to the Manitowoc City Council has died.
Nancy Crowley passed away Monday at her Manitowoc residence.
She was 81.
Crowley, who was born and raised in Chicago, was employed as a registered nurse at Holy Family Hospital and had a major role in starting their emergency department.
Nancy served the 5th aldermanic district for 10 years on the City Council and later became a deputy coroner for Manitowoc County, having served in that capacity from 1981-to-2017.
She was also part of many state task forces as director of Manitowoc County Emergency Management.
A celebration of life is planned for Monday, January 17th at 11 am at St. Francis of Assisi Parish on Grand.
Visitation will start at 9 am and continue until the time of services.
