Now that winter weather has officially hit the Lakeshore area, the outdoor ice rink in downtown Manitowoc is now available to skate.
Members of the public are welcome to lace up their skates, and enjoy the view of Lake Michigan and the Manitowoc River, but the rink does need to be maintained as well.
That is why the Parks and Recreation Division has announced that they are designating 8:00 PM on Thursday evenings as the time for resurfacing.
Those wishing to skate on the ice are being asked to avoid using the rink at that time, so volunteers can make sure the ice is in pristine condition.
This maintenance time is subject to change depending on rink and weather conditions.
