Multiple area Health Departments and Medical Centers have issued a joint statement regarding increased wait times in emergency rooms.
The statement noted that the Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported that the increased wait times are due to people going to emergency rooms to get tested for COVID-19.
The medical professionals in the area, including HFM, Prevea, Aurora, HSHS, and the Health Departments from Manitowoc and Brown Counties, are asking the public to not go directly to the emergency room or urgent care for testing.
If you are seeking COVID19 testing, please consider your options and the effect it has on your community.
They went on to urge people to get vaccinated and to get their booster shot to help relieve the stress on not only them but also everyone else.
